About Us

The Artist

Walker Kermode, having grown up in the household of full time artistic Woodturner Jerry Kermode, is following in his Father's footsteps of beautiful craftsmanship at the lathe.  Walker spent many hours in his Dad's shop, helping with his parent's custom woodworking business.  Here he learned how to cut without scraping, how to see the shape within the grain, and how to finish each piece to a unique point of artistry.

Having sold his first bowl in his teens during one of Jerry and Deborah Kermode's craft fairs, he developed the desire to make woodworking his own, and continued on to crafting poplar yoga blocks for a yoga studio in Hawaii.  These early experiences naturally progressed into his current business as co-owner and artist at Walker's Woodwork.  An artist by nature, Walker's life-long love of music and the outdoors, together with the skill he has garnered from his experiences as a Woodturner's son, give his work a life of warmth and inspiration.
